The platform provides access to training materials on any device, including smartphones. The platform launched with eight training categories that collectively offer over 200 courses, with new modules added every four weeks. Content includes material appropriate for everyone, from apprentices to master technicians, and covers a wide range of vehicle systems including ADAS, exhaust aftertreatment, diesel systems, petrol systems, vehicle electrics and chassis systems. There are also dedicated hybrid and EV modules.
Those working towards an IMI accreditation can take a mock test. More complex topics, such as those related to EVs, are unlocked only once users have progressed through the required foundation courses.
According to Phil Mitchell, Technical Services Manager, Delphi Technologies Aftermarket, the new platform offers many benefits: “The Delphi Technologies Academy is something we’re very excited about and proud of. From feedback we know it’s something that will be of benefit to all those seeking automotive training, no matter their existing skills, and we are positive that it will be one of the very best online training facilities available in our sector.”
The new platform is designed to complement live in-classroom training, as Phil observed:
“Such is the nature of what mechanics do, there will always be a need for practical training, but an expert online resource will certainly enable many people to expand their skillset with the minimum of fuss.”
A 12-month subscription to the e-learning platform costs £220 plus VAT. Further details on the Delphi Technologies Academy can be found at: https:// academy.delphiautoparts.com/
